Back in the day -  Madonna was my role-model. In fashion and music and attitude - she was the icon through the 80s, 90s, 2000s - right up to today. As a young woman I dressed like her, I followed her, I danced to her - I wanted to BE her.  In 1991, as editor of Just Seventeen, I did Take That's first interview as a spoof of In Bed With Madonna. 

As well as being an icon for my generation - she remains a Goddess for the LGBTQ community and is one of the special things I have in common with my drag queen son erin_go_bragh. The singalongs began in our Irish kitchen in Killala 20 years ago and now - we have decided to take to the stage! As Ireland's - Hell - the world's first mother & son drag performers -  Mayodonna and Mammydonna - we're hosting a tribute night at The Claddagh Ring, our NW4 London local, on November 7th 2025.  Dancing, dress-up, sing-a-longs and of course - being Irish - we will be serving MIGHTY MADONNA CRAIC!
