a gift for 2020
At forty-six, I had the worst year of my life. A few weeks after falling, unexpectedly, pregnant my darling brother, Tom, died. Overwhelmed with grief, menopausal and suffering from post-natal depression, I began keeping a diary of my Smalltown life in Killala. Gradually light pulled me through the darkness.
Over the next ten years, I rebuilt myself, consciously seeking out gratitude in my life as a wife, mother and writer by recording her experiences. The challenges of life became a reminder of life itself and therefore an opportunity to feel blessed. I connected back with the simple lessons of life that I had lost - and found a lot of new ones.
I have put a few of them into a collection for my readers - old and new.
I hope you enjoy.
